FAQ

What knives do you make scales for?

Currently I make scales for the Benchmade Griptilian, Mini Griptilian, Barrage, Mini Barrage, Bugout, Mini Bugout and 940. I am currently working on programing the 945 but I have fallen far behind on the project since things have been very busy. I am hoping to have it finished and available to order before the end of Summer (2023). I am extremely sorry for the continued delays on this project. After that I will likely look at programming the Hogue Ritter models or the Benchmade Freeks, I have not decided yet.

How long does shipping take?

Domesetic (USA) Customers:

Scales purchased directly through the website ship USPS Priority Mail which which should reach any place in the US within 3 business days. Scales are shipped within 1 business day unless an anodizing service has been selected. Please allow 3-5 business days for anodizing. Please keep in mind I have no control over postal delays once the package has left the shop.

International Customers:

I am still attempting to figure out the best way to handle international shipping. It is much more difficult that I would have assumed to have it automatically calculate the correct rates. I will get it worked out as soon as possible. In the meantime, please contact me if you are an international customer and I can calculate the rates manually and send you an invoice. I am very sorry for the inconvenience.

Do you accept returns?

I fully stand behind my work. Scales with any kind of manufacturer defect can be returned or exchanged. This does not cover wear and tear, improper use, or improper assembly. Please contact me if you have any kind of issue.

Unused scales in new condition can be returned within 30 days of purchase.

I do not accept returns for anodized scales unless there is some kind of manufacturer defect. Not liking the color in person does not qualify as a manufacturer defect.

Why are all the Carbon Fiber, G10 and Micarta scales out of stock? When will a particular scale set be back in stock?

I am only set up to make the standard titanium 940 and Bugout scales in batches and they are the only thing I attempt to keep in stock at all times. I will hopefully be adding the Mini Bugout and 945 to that list soon. The limited variants (usually Ti with some kind of inlays) are usually handled with a pre-order so people can pick their exact options. Keep an eye on my Instagram for announcements on those limited runs.

I only make the carbon fiber, G10, and Micarta scales one set at a time. I decide at random what model and material I will make that day. It is a “Scale of the Day” kind of thing, I only make one per day and only if I have the extra time. I may make the same model/material several times, or I may make a set for the website once and then never make that exact version again. If you’re looking for something specific, it’s best to contact me and special order exactly what you’re looking for rather than waiting for it to come up on the website again.

Do you do custom work?

I am slowly phasing out the custom work to focus on the web store. I do not take any custom/special orders for metal scales, those will only be available through the store. I do take special orders for composite scales (carbon fiber, G10, micarta, etc). The options will be a little more limited than my custom work in the past though. This will also be your best option if you prefer clip mounts other than right hand only. Usual wait time for special order scales is 4-8 weeks. Prices are anywhere from $95-$250+ depending on what you’re looking for.
